We have already read the story of success now here is another entrepreneur Dean Kamen that has to introduced by the world.
The great American Engineer was born on 5th April 1951 in Long Island, New York. His father named Jack was an illustrator for Weird Science and Mad Comic Books and Dean’s mother Evelyn was a teacher. From his childhood only he was very fond of the invention having less interest in schools. He used to do many inventions in the basement. When Dean entered into his teenage he paid for his inventions which he made in his parent’s basement. He earned $60,000 before being graduated from the high school.
As said before he did not have any interest in studies, he attended the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts but soon dropp without graduating. Later in 1976, he found his own company named AutoSyringe. It was a portable device which is use to administer the doses of medication to the patients.
Then in 1982, he sold his company to Baxter International and again in the same year founded another open DEKA (Research & Development Corporation). Further, he started a program for the students to get people interested in Engineering, science and inventions which he named as FIRST – For Inspiration & Recognition of Science and Technology.
At FIRST, there have many Robotics programs for the students, including First Lego League Jr. for younger elementary school students. He is very well known for iBot Wheelchair (it can be run on the sandy land as well it can climb the stairs) and Segway (a self-balancing scooter). The Segway has no steering wheel, no breaks and it works on the chargeable battery powers, can carry 250 pounds of weights.

During his serving career, he won several awards and medals, here are those-1995: Hoover Medal, 1999: Heinz Award, 2000: National Medal of Technology and Innovation, 2002: Lemelson–MIT Prize, 2007: ASME Medal, 2011: Lindbergh Award and in 2013 he was award the Global Humanitarian Award.
Kamen lives in his house named Dean Kamen Mansion, which is in WestWind in Bedford, New Hemisphere. His entire mansion is construct in view of inventions. He is also a member of USA Science and Engineering Festival’s Advisory Board.
