Early Life

This great Entrepreneur and a businessman were born on 28 October 1955 in Seattle, Washington. His family belongs to five members father (lawyer), mother (athletic teacher), elder sister, him and one younger sister. His interest in computing started from school days only and the first program that built by Bill was in teenage. Though it is just a game ‘Tic-Tac-Toe’, which has been written in the BASIC language on a GE computer.

Gates was so good on a computer that once he and three other high school students were banned from computer usage by the CCC (Computer Center Corporation) Seattle. All of them found guilty of exploiting operating system bug to steal the time of the computer.  Truly such a brilliant child he was, in 1973 bill scored 1590/1600 in SAT (Scholarship Aptitude Test).

Both were a very fast friend, Allen was two years senior to Gates. The common thing between both of them was that they love computing, also banned from the computer lab once. In 1970 Allen and Gates went into developing business together, Traf-o-Data, which a control the traffic on the computer in Seattle. Both friends want to start their own company, but Bill’s parents want him to finish the school and go to college plus spend further studies as a law student. Later, both of the fast friends went to different places for future studies, still, they get in touch with each other.

In those days only when they were doing studies in colleges, Allen showed Bill Gates an edition of Popular Electronic Magazines featuring Altair 8800 mini computer kit. Altair was made by a small company MITS (Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems). Both were very fascinated and tried to contact the company, knowing if MITS gets interested in their BASIC software that would run the Altair. Actually, they were not having anything Altair run code. The president of MITS was interested and asked for a demonstration, whereas they spend 2 months in writing software. Thereafter, Allen went to Albuquerque to test at MITS, before trying it on an Altair computer. Successful Allen was hired at MITS and Gates also left Harvard to work with him.

After that in 1975, Bill Gates and Paul Allen formed a company ‘Microsoft’. Allen was there in the company till 1983, he was a cancer patient and diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease. Though his cancer went into decrease by an intensive treatment. Thereafter, Allen resigned from the Microsoft, many rumors were evolved, why Allen left the company. People were saying that Gates pushed out, while some say it’s a life changing experience. By 1979 Microsoft grossing over $2.5 million and at 23 age Gates placed self as a head of the company. In June 2007, the sales amount of Microsoft company was $51 billion, with 78 thousand employees and across 105 countries.

Bill Gates visits years in India were 1997,2000,2002 & 2005. Mumbai was the first place where he visited. HE also spoke at the Government Leaders Forum Asia in New Delhi. The Indian section of Microsoft Research started on 15 January 2005 in Bangalore, a city which is extremely active. For helping the Indian software services companies, he also championed the cause of H1-B visa.

Besides the success of Microsoft, Gates had never any feeling of security, he always checks his shoulders to be aware of the competition. Outside the company, Gates was gaining a huge reputation as a feeling less competitor. Many of the technology companies began to develop their own operating system to replace MS-DOS. It can be said that Bill Gates built up a white hot drive and a competitive soul within people. Bill always expected everyone who works in the organization to have the same dedication.

  1. Hello all! Lately I have been fighting with a lot of hardships. Friends and doctors keep telling me I should consider taking meds, so I may as well Contact and see how it goes. Problem is, I haven’t taken it for a while, and don’t wanna get back to it, we’ll see how it goes.
